• Membership is personal to the member. Membership is NOT transferable and CANNOT be sold on.
• Members will be issued with their personal Fishing Digital ID which you will be required to carry with you at all times, whilst on the Lake. You will also need to show your ID to receive your 20% discount for any food or drink you purchase
• No other activities are permitted (i.e. tuition) but occasional “guest” fishing tickets will be available at the absolute discretion of the Head Bailiff. This will only be by prior arrangement and provided there are sufficient swims available. Each member is limited to a maximum of 2 Guest Visits per syndicate year.
• Members are allowed 1 x 5-night stay per fishing season, but this is not a guarantee as it is subject to availability and at the discretion of the Head Bailiff. Bookings for a 5-night stay can only be made in the ‘calendar year’ in which the 5-night stay will occur.
• Misuse of keys will lead to immediate withdrawal of the individual’s fishing rights with no pro-rata refund payable to the syndicate member. If a member loses their key a replacement will be charged at £20.
Access Times to Both Lakes
• Access to the lake via the Park is RESTRICTED between the hours of 11.00pm – 5.00am.
• Night fishing is permitted throughout the open season of WCP. The closed season of WCP is from 1st November 2023 to 9th February 2024 inclusive. Fishing during this period must be arranged with the Head Bailiff, by prior arrangement only. Members found to be fishing during the closed season without consent, may be asked to leave.
• No fishing may take place where signs are displayed, e.g. Picnic Bank.
• Both lakes will close for 3 weeks during spawning. As soon as spawning is confirmed, the Head Bailiff will strive to give a minimum of 4 days’ notice that the lake will be closing, although this cannot be guaranteed.
Access to the Small Lake
• Fishing is not permitted on the South Bank swims (i.e.those adjacent to the Reception Building). To fish at any other time on any of the remaining swims on the small lake, members must contact the Head Bailiff prior to using.
• Please be aware that a Christmas event will be held at the Park from Mid-November and throughout December. Dates will be issued in due course. During this time, please note general access to the Park will be restricted through the hours of 4pm – 9pm and access to all the small lake swims will be prohibited
Fishing Rules
• Members are allowed to fish for a ‘maximum of 3 days’ within a 7-day period. The 3 days may run consecutively or be divided into a maximum of ‘3 sessions’ across the 7 days.
• Please note - a session may be 1hr to 24hrs but must not exceed 72 hours in total. You are only allowed to fish for 3 sessions in total. On your final day of fishing, you must vacate the lake by 12 noon.
From your third and final day (or session) of fishing, you cannot then return to the lake for another 4 days. For example: - if your last day of fishing is on a Tuesday (off by noon), you cannot return to fish the lake until the following Saturday (4 days).
• A valid Environment Agency Licence must be carried at all times and available for inspection. Note the EA make regular checks around the lake for valid licences. It is your responsibility to obtain a licence.
• Three rods only are permitted per member.
• No less than 15lb Breaking Strain Mono Line must be used.
• No braided main lines apart from marker and spod rods.
• Micro Barbed hooks only are to be used.
• Maggots and casters are no longer permitted for use as either ‘GROUND or ‘HOOK BAIT’.
• Pre-baiting is not allowed.
• No nut baits of any description to be used at any time.
• Under no circumstances can swims be left unattended with fishing lines still in the water.
• You are not permitted to leave a swim unattended for more than 3 hours.
• No rotating swims and no buckets/barrows to be put in swims as a reserve.
• When removing or returning your equipment, please ensure you clean and sanitise all items. On returning all equipment, please ensure it is hung up in the correct manner and not just deposited on the floor
Wildlife & Fish Welfare
• WCP provides fish care equipment: retaining slings, unhooking mats, and landing nets. These must be always used. Members are not permitted to use their own fish care equipment.
• After use, fish care equipment should be washed and returned to the fish care hut in the same condition as it is taken and hung up correctly, not left on the floor. NO equipment belonging to WCP should be removed from the site.
• Retaining of fish is NOT permitted. Fish should be returned to the water ASAP and no longer than 10 mins after, which is permitted for photographic and weighing purposes only. Anyone abusing this rule will lose their membership without any refund.
• All fish to be lifted out of the water in Retainer Slings only.
• A first aid treatment must be always applied to any mouth and body wound found, before fish are released back into the water. A Gardner product or such like is the preferred method of treatment.
• Tackle and line must be taken home for disposal.
• The lake will close during spawning, vermin shooting and for any other specific purpose deemed necessary, at the discretion of the Head Bailiff.
• To help protect our larger fish, all ‘50lb+ fish’ must now be photographed in the water with the aid of an unhooking mat. They can however still be weighed on the bank.
• Members are required to have their own self take photo kits to enable members to take pictures of caught fish by themselves, without the need for assistance. However, we do advise that a second person should be in attendance, especially at night.
Health and Safety
• We require you to sign in and out on your arrival/departure. A register will be in the fish care hut, situated behind the Fisherman’s Hut.
• You are responsible for your own health and safety, as well as a legal responsibility for the health and safety of others near to where you are fishing, including day visitors and campers to WCP.
• You are also responsible for your actions regarding the health and safety of the wildlife.
• Members should not abuse or misuse the grounds of WCP and must observe all security measures.
• Anyone found blatantly abusing their health and safety responsibilities will have their membership rescinded and no refund will be given.
• Alcohol, littering, and music is not permitted. Members are requested to use toilet facilities provided within the Fisherman’s Hut. Any member abusing this rule will automatically have their membership withdrawn and no refund given.
• Barbeques are only permitted from 1st November 2023 until 28th March 2024 inclusive. BBQ coals to be deposited in the bins at Grassy Bank and Lorries. An additional bin is provided at the Fisherman’s Hut.
• No boats or inflatables are permitted. Two boats are provided by WCP. Each boat must be used by two people in all circumstances. Life jackets are provided in both locations and must be worn at all times. The boats must be returned to their original location after use.
• Once leaving your swim, you must ensure it is clear of any rubbish, tackle etc and that this is disposed of in the bins provided
• We would strongly recommend that all anglers should bring their own sanitising gel, gloves and wipes where possible and wash/sanitise your hands as often as possible
• Members are requested to bring to the attention as soon as possible to the Head Bailiff or Park Management team, any issue of Health, Safety or Security in the Park or Lake they may become aware of during their visit.
• Members are subject to the general Terms and Conditions of entry to the Country Park.
Social Media
• Social Media and networking sites have become a regular part of everyday life for many people and continue to develop rapidly. Overall, they serve a great purpose, but care must also be taken in what is posted, in order not to cause offence to anyone.
• If any member sets up and runs any social media site which is primarily run for members of Wellington Country Park Fishing Syndicate, they must be aware of the responsibility they have for that site. In being the administrator of any such site, the administrator must be aware that there is a correlation between posts that may be put up and the effect that may have directly on the Syndicate or members of the Syndicate.
• Any post put on any social media site primarily run for Wellington Country Park Fishing Syndicate members should not make any derogatory, offensive, discriminatory, or defamatory comments about current or past individuals or companies be they members, suppliers, the fishing management team, Country Park or Estate. In addition, any comment should not make any inference to race, sexual orientation, age etc. To do so on sites primarily run for the purpose of Wellington Country Park Syndicate members cannot be allowed as this could lead to conflict with the aims and operational activities of the Syndicate.
• As operators of the Syndicate, Wellington Country Park has a duty of care in what is posted on any such site. Any failure to adhere to this and to post or allow such a post may render you as administrator and for certain the person who posts any such article, liable to action to be taken by the Country Park. This could ultimately result in removal from the Syndicate without any refund being paid.
Guest Fishing – Free Family Visit to the Park
• Guest - Guest fishing will need to be confirmed prior to arrival with the Head Bailiff and charged at the unchanged rate of £45 for 24 hours. This should be paid at the WCP reception building on the day (Open 9am - 5pm, 7 days a week when the Park is open) or direct to Jamie Lord. Guests are not permitted during the period from the end of February until the end of October inclusive.
Family Visit to the Park
As a Wellington Country Park Fishing Syndicate Member, we are glad to offer you free entry to the Country Park for your family and friends (up to 3 people max). Terms and conditions do apply.

Rules of Booking Tickets:
• To book you must be a current member of the Wellington Country Park Fishing Syndicate. The pass holder or spouse/partner of the pass holder must be in attendance at check-in.
• Bookings can only be made for the syndicate member + 3 other people (1 other adult and up to 2 children aged 2-15). Infants under 2 years old are free and unlimited.
• All family & friends must be booked in advance. Anyone not booked may be turned away or charged the full entry fee.
• Each WCP Fishing Syndicate member is only permitted ONE SLOT per week
• Additional charges still apply for tickets for the Train, Welly Wheels, and Animal Feed
• Please note there are only a limited number of tickets available each day and they are available on a first come first served basis.
• All children must be off site and out of the Country Park by sunset at the latest. Responsibility lies with the fisherman for the supervision of children at all times, whilst on site.
• For an overnight stay, a Partner/Wife or direct member of the family (sibling, parent, or child) over the age of 16 and not fishing can stay overnight free of charge, provided they have been pre-booked with the Head Bailiff. Any person of 16 or over who wants to stay overnight, and fish will be treated as a guest as described above

General
• As a syndicate member, on production of your digital ID, you will receive 20% discount on all food and drink purchases onsite provided you are present and on production of your digital ID. This discount will apply to any purchases of food and drink by your family friends/guests (3 max).
• Any fish caught of 50Ibs or more should be reported to a bailiff as soon as possible.
• All members are in sole charge of their belongings and WCP will not be held responsible for any damage or loss of property. WCP require all members to carry a mobile phone.
• If you bring a DOG on site with you, please ensure they are kept on a LEAD at ALL TIMES and that you clear up after them. There are no facilities at the Park to allow your dog off the lead
• Syndicate members are not allowed to park on the Campsite or at the Fisherman’s Hut (excluding bailiffs). Any member found doing so may have their membership rescinded. Occasional parking at the Fisherman’s Hut may be permitted in extraordinary circumstances but at the discretion of the Head Bailiff only.
• Drones and Chinese Lanterns are not allowed anywhere in the Country Park.

• In terms of any future National Lockdown which results in fishing not being available due to the facilities being told to close by government guidelines, Wellington Country Park will not be responsible for any period of fishing lost and no refunds, extensions of membership or any other form of compensation will be offered
• The Directors of Wellington Country Park Limited reserve the right to alter membership conditions, all general terms and conditions cited above, opening/closing times and to retain the ability to close the lake at their discretion without prior notice.
